2x tables – tips Products are EVEN DOUBLE HALVE
3x table – tips If the digits add up to 3, 6, or 9, then it's in the 3 times table
4x table – tips All the products are EVEN DOUBLE and DOUBLEAGAIN If the last 2 digits of a number are a multiple of 4, then the number is Reverse the calculation if that makes it easier .
5x and 10x tables – tips Multiples of 5 end in a 5 or a 0 Multiples of 10 always end in a 0
6x table – tips • All the products are EVEN and a multiple of 3 • X3, thenDOUBLE it • Reverse the calculation if that makes it easier
7x table - tips 7 x 8 = 56. 9x table – tips The tens go up but the units go down 1 x 9 = 9 2 x 9 = 18 3 x 9 = 27 4 x 9 = 36 5 x 9 = 45 6 x 9 = 54 The digits of the products add up to 918 = 1 + 8 = 9 27 = 2 + 7 = 9 36 = 3 + 6 = 9
The Finger Trick 7 X 9 Hold out all 10 fingers, and lower the 7th finger. There are 6 fingers to the left and 3 fingers on the right. The answer is 63.
