Our Natural Attractions. About Our Country in Brief.
E N D
About Our Country in Brief Hungary is situated in Central Europe in a place called Carpathian Basin. Our country can be divided into three large regions: Transdanubia (which is mainly hilly with the exception of the northern region, which is called the Small Plain), Northern Hungary ( which is fairly mountainous) and the Great Plain. Our town, Szarvas is to be found on the Great Plain.
Hungarian Grey Cattle It is a really Hungarian breed, which lives mainly in the Great Plain, especially in Hortobágy National Park. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hungarian_Grey_cattle Squirrel This is a small beloved animal with red fur. It usually lives in the woods, but also likes living not far from people. ANIMALS
Great bustard Bustards are really strange birds, which live here in the Great Plain. The size of it is about the size of a turkey. Its feather is brown, golden, grey and white.
http://golya.mme.hu/golyakamera/kazarstream/ In this picture you can see a stork. In the website above you can see a stork-nest in Nograd county in Hungary. Of course now you can’t see the storks living there, as they move to the south in autumn, but in spring they come back and they live there and because of the webcamera you can follow their life.
In this picture you can see one of my favourite animals, a fox. It has red fur and a bushy tail. In the right top corner you can see our favourite fox, which is the main character of a Hungarian writer’s story. His name is Vuk, and the story was written by Istvan Fekete. A cartoon was made from this story by Attila Dargay. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QLBrV5wAcjY&feature=related This is the first part, and you can find there the others, too.
Countryside and vegetation These photos were taken here in Szarvas on the riverside of the River Körös by me. I ride my bicycle a lot. As you can see we have a lot of trees and bushes here.
Hortobágy is also a famous place in Hungary. Here you can see special horse riders. This event isn’t a natural attraction, it’s a cultural one, but it is very important for us and we always enjoy watcing it.
Thank you for your attention. We hope you enjoyed our presentation.
