A view from the HLC “There have been some scattered efforts in the UN to mainstream South-South Cooperation in development strategies, notably in the UNDP’s Multi-year funding Framework and the FAO’s Special Programme for Food Security. Overall However, we have a long way to go towards mainstreaming. Because no adequate strategic framework for South-South Cooperation exists, regular resources are insufficient and unpredictable and information sharing among agencies limited. These are obstacles to effective coordination on South-South Cooperation. (Japan, HLC, 2007)
