Math: We will continue our unit on measurement. This week we will concentrate on elapsed time and practice finding temperatures on thermometers. The students will be taking the STAAR release test this week. Language Arts: Students will be practicing revising and editing skills. Science: We will be discussing the moon and its effects on Earth. Social Studies: We will be studying the farming and ranching importance in Texas during the mid to late 1800’s. Vocabulary: sift spree dwell juvenile proceed Spelling quickly squirming expert quietly quite exciting earthquake quality example squeal quote Mexico squeaky except extremely Upcoming Events: Feb. 14 – Valentine party – 2:15 Feb. 17 – Monday – School WILL be in session. It is our bad weather make-up day. Very few grades were taken last week because it was a short week. Therefore, Graded Work Folders will not be going home today. Look for them again next week. Below is a list of students in our class for those of you wanting to give Valentine cards.
