Para. 1 • We suffer under the whips of the terrible Nazis. • whip: used metaphorically to refer to the terrible rule of the Nazis. • under the whips of: under the threat of being beaten by a whip 在…的皮鞭下 • 在爱中长大的孩子,学会了仁慈;在皮鞭下长大的孩子,只会产生仇恨。 • The children brought up with love will learn to be kind while those who grow up under the whips will only breed hatred in their hearts.
