  10. My Library Account Allows you to: • Renew books online • (not short loan or Open Reserve or if requested by someone else) • Reserve a book out on loan to someone else • Access the electronic resources (including exam papers) off-campus

  11. Your PIN number • Create your own • At least 6 digits • Mixture of letters and numbers required • When you are setting it up first you are prompted to put it in two more times • For your use only – don’t share your PIN with anyone and remember to logout

  13. Library Catalogue • Lists all that the Library owns • Books, journals, DVDs, printed, online

  14. Keyword Search • When you want to know what we have in a particular subject area • When you can’t remember the exact title of a particular book

  15. Keyword Search • Searches through the titles, chapter headings and the Library’s own Subject headings

  16. What the Catalogue tells you Exactly where the item is on the shelf Exactly where the item is on the shelf Which floor of the Boole it is on (or if in Brookfield or CUH Libraries) What it looks like Out on loan – date it is due back?

  17. More copies available Click into the title to get full details N.B The catalogue only lists the first 3 copies but it tells you when there are more

  19. Online tutorial – how to find that book • The Library’s online tutorial will give you more detail on finding the book on the shelf • Check out the other tutorials too • Remember Library staff are here to help you – ask them!

  20. Title search • From the drop-down menu choose Title • Fastest way to find book on catalogue when you know the exact title

Request a book which is out on loan • Request OR Reserve OR “Put a hold on” • Library account required • Notified by email when it’s waiting for you • 2 days to pick it up • Boole books – collect at Customer Services Desk, Q Floor, Boole • Brookfield Books – collect in Brookfield • CUH Books – collect in CUH
