Contribution to Math! • Leonardo worked with 2D and 3D figures and their properties with his work. • He worked with geometric proportions in his work and paintings. • Leonardo used problem solving and reasoning in his inventions that he made.
Continued….. • He wrote in a notebook which can be read as a math book. • Used the Putting Mathematics to Work standards to build most of his inventions. • Watched birds take flight so he could make a blueprint for a helicopter.
How we use it today • We use proportions in most math classes today like algebra and geometry. • We take the PSSA test when we are in 11th grade and we do problem solving and reasoning problems on the test.
The Vitruvian Man Used geometric shapes and anatomy when making this.
My Opinion.. • I think that Leonardo da Vinci was an extremely smart person. • He made a lot of contributions in his time that we still use in today’s world. • I think without Leonardo we would not have a very big knowledge on some of the things we do know.
