  1. PACU VISITING POLICY: Visits will be arranged to PACU with the nurse when the patient is awake from anesthesia and able to receive visitors. For the comfort and privacy of our patients, one or two immediate family members may visit briefly in the PACU. Children over the age of 14 are permitted to visit. Patient tracking boards show when the patient is in PACU. Please note, it takes approximately one hour or more for the patient to wake from anesthesia. Please understand that recovery times vary. Please assign one(1) family member as contact person and give their telephone number to Surgical Waiting Room receptionist, when available. No food or beverages permitted in PACU. Parents/guardians of children under 18 years may have 2 family members stay with the child during recovery. Caregivers and interpreters may stay with the patient at all times. POST ANESTHESIA CARE UNIT
