  4. “While you can't always control what happens, you always can control how you respond to it. It's not the situation but how you respond to it that makes the difference.” • Support your softball player and let the coaching staff coach them. • Trust your coaching staff to make the best decisions for the entire team. • Remember, we ARE human, and WILL make mistakes. • Parents and friends are not allowed near or in the dugout during games or practices • Any outside distractions take their concentration away from the game and the team…we want them focused as much as possible • We need you on our side for the team to be successful Parent Expectations

  5. CONTINUED • If an issue occurs and a resolution cannot be made between the player and the coach, and you would like to meet with the coaching staff, we ask that your daughtermake an appointment to sit down with the coaching staff and yourself to discuss the issue. • Playing time, strategy, or other players will never be discussed. • Immediately following a game or practice is NOT an appropriate time for a conference. Make an appointment. It is our job as the coaches to make the best decisions for the ENTIRE TEAM. Parent Expectations

  6. Always prefer team victory rather than personal glory. Take pride in seeing your team succeed. • Call and advise of emergency situations and not at the last minute • Be on time. Always arrive at least10 minutes before you “have” to be there. • Praise your teammates at all times when they give that something special. • Keep everyone away from our bench at all times. • Support and cheer for your team at all times during games, and each batter as they are up. • Sit down and talk to your coaches/captains when you’re having a problem. Do this before any situation gets too big or too involved. Player Expectations

  7. CONTINUED • If you’re having one of those days, announce it to your team upon arrival, so we can adjust accordingly. • Respect all people at all times and they will respect you • Shake off any errors or mistakes you make. Get tough and get them next time. • Be on your best behavior at all times. Do not curse. Do not get detention. • Do not be late to school or to class – you are students first, athletes second. Player Expectations

  9. IMAGINE A GROUP OF STUDENT-ATHLETES THAT POSSESS TALENT, ABILITY, EXPERIENCE, AND CLASS. IMAGINE THEM BONDED BY A COMMON RESPECT, ADMIRATION, AND LOVE FOR EACH OTHER. IMAGINE THIS GROUP WITH SELF CONTROL AND SELF DISCIPLINE. IMAGINE THEM WITH AN UNPARALELLED TENACITY AND DETERMINATION TO ACHIEVE EXCELLENCE. IMAGINE WHAT COULD HAPPEN TO PITMAN SOFTBALL IF WE ALL JUST IMAGINE. Pitman Softball
