Allerton Grange key areas • The main focus of PSHE for Allerton Grange School are: • Positive contributions • Principally delivered through extra-curricular activities • Sex and Relationship Education • Principally delivered through Science lessons • Drugs • Principally delivered in Religious Education lessons • Economical and Financial awareness • Principally delivered in Maths • All other areas of PSHE to be covered across the curriculum areas and through form time activities

  3. Form time activitities • PSHE in form time will • Support and enhance key areas, through quizzes, real life examples etc. • Support and enhance lessons delivered, particularly the four key areas • Monitor students’ personal and social development

  4. Year 9 • Unit 1 – Citizenship (September – October half term) • Unit 2 – Identity (November –Christmas break) • Unit 3 – Healthy Living (January – February half term) • Unit 4 – Communication (March – Easter) • Unit 5 – SRE (Spring term) • Unit 6 - Economic wellbeing (Summer term)

  5. Year 10 • Unit 1 – Economic wellbeing (September – October half term) • Unit 2 – Disability (November –Christmas break) • Unit 3 - Bullying (January – February half term) • Unit 4 – Alcohol (March – Easter) • Unit 5 - SRE(Spring term) • Unit 6 - Drugs(Summer term)

  6. Year 11 • Unit 1 – Diversity (September – October half term) • Unit 2 - Health/SRE (November –Christmas break) • Unit 3 - Enterprise/Finance (March – Easter) • Unit 4 - Community/anti social behaviour (March – Easter) • Rest of time spent on revision

  7. Assessment • Assessment to be done mainly through lessons • Students to self or peer assess their work at the end of each unit • Each form tutor should write a short comment about each of their form at the end of each unit. • Reference to PSHE needs to be included in their end of year tutor comments

  8. PSHE Passport • Each student will receive a ‘PSHE passport’. Tutors and students to write comments for each unit. • Passports will be issued in September for the start of Unit 1
