Geography Located on the Italian Peninsula. -750 Miles Long (NC. 200 miles). -150 Miles Wide (NC . 800 miles). Divided north to south by Apennine mts. Three main fertile plains for agriculture. -Po River in the north. -Plain of Latium (Where Rome was founded). -Campania (south of Latium).
Where ever I may Rome… Located 18 miles from the Mediterranean (Med.) sea along the Tiber river. -Easy crossing of the Tiber. -Good access to the sea. -Easy to defend from inland and seaward attacks.

Etruscans. Influenced Rome the most. -Began building program that turned Rome into a city. -Organized the Roman army. -Toga and short cloak.
Roman Republic • Est. 509 (BCE). • Republic: A form of government in which the leader is not a monarch, and certain people have the right to vote.
