Study: Heavy Drinking More Prevalent With Military Men Than Civilians Posted: 9:55 PM Oct 27, 2010 A study shows heavy drinking is more prevalent among military men than in the general population. According to the National Institute of Health, young men in every service branch have higher rates of heavy drinking than their civilian counterparts. The study shows about 32-percent of young military men engaged in heavy drinking, compared with about 18-percent of civilian men.
PREVALENT -- generally accepted; widespread. The trick-or-treaters this year were not prevalent, we only had 10-12 kids come to our door.
