  2. Vladivostok… My Dream, My Town The sun plays with beams here, The mountains clear up, My favorite town is there, My native land grows up. The Golden Horn's waves splash, The winds blow from ocean. I was born here and that's why I love you with my devotion. The people like to have fun, The seaport is not vulgar. This city has a great past… • The team of third company of fourth separate East-Siberian linear battalion on the military ship “Manchurian” arrived to the Golden Horn’s bay on the 2nd of July 1860. The ensign N.V. Komarov headed a command. After arriving to land, soldiers began to build the new post. From this date Vladivostok originates. In 1880 it was taken the city status. In 1888 Vladivostok was the center of Primorsky region. The city had worried 5 battles and some confrontations during whole history. Military velour of Vladivostok’s defenders is sung in many literary works, films, songs and others monuments of culture. A pride of Vladivostok is its people. The city was marked by memorable signs and state awards for their merits of battle.

  4. The railway station… Vladivostok is the biggest historical and cultural Primorsky center. It has old and new architectural shape. The building of the end XIX – the beginning of XX century adjoin to building constructed at the end of XX century. Apartment houses are monuments of the end of XIXth century remained also. Despite the massed town-planning of cast decades, a city still keeps separate historical buildings and whole streets. Our travel begins with the Railway Station in the city. It is the terminal point of the Great Trans-Siberian highway. It was built in 1909-1911 by N.V. Konovalov, Russian architect.

  5. The town is now… Vladivostok is a capital of Primorsky region and the largest port of Russia, the economic and cultural centre of the Far East. It is the city in which all roads – overland and sea, railway and automobile, air and underwater. Hundreds of ways and thousand of travelers annually come to Vladivostok and are not disappointed, after all in Russia there are some places where it is possible to see sunrise… The Vladivostok Marine Stationis the biggest station of sea messages in Far East and Russian Pacific coast. It gives a big attention for culture and society action. Holidays, actions, festivals, exhibitions are spent both in the building and on air-opened special platform where the scene is established especially on the right side of station.

  6. Oceanarium… The main street… There are more than thousand exhibits in it. Oceanarium is the sea museum with dry and alive expositions devoted to the Pacific nature. Oceanarium collection is constantly enriched. It is popular with Vladivostok people and city guests. About 160-180 thousand people come here every year. It had two different names but some years ago it was given its real name. Svetlanskaya Street is main and historical Vladivostok’s Street. There are many shops and restaurants in it.

  7. Vladivostok is in the future… We have great past and greater future. I think everybody imagines Vladivostok in the future. We know that summit APES (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) will be in 2012. That’s why we can look boldly in the future of our city. The purpose of summit APES is the maintenance of economic growing and strengthening of mutual trade with other countries. And we have a good chance because we live in this city. Vladivostok will be more beautiful with our help. The buildings of summit objects are carried out in the city. Some more summit objects will be built on Russian Island. The basic summit objects are a bridge to Russian island, a bridge through Golden Horn bay and also the Far Eastern University.

  8. The bridge of Russian Island… The building of the bridge was begun on the 3rd of September 2008. It will give big possibilities for region connected to his territorial, economic development and transport infrastructure.

  9. Primorsky Oceanarium is in future… It’s the first project. Referring to the project a few aquariums will be mounted by general volume 9.85 thousand cubic meters in Oceanarium. It will allow to create a few displays and to represent the submarine species of a few climatic areas, for example from Bering spilling and Okhotskye Sea to the tropics, and also fresh water reservoirs. Primorsky Oceanarium must be the biggest tourist and entertaining complex and also a scientific base for Institute of biology.

  10. One of the visitors, his name is Dm. Tomas, describes Vladivostok in such a way: It’s a city which is impossible not to love. Its whole world which calls, attracts and attempts when you are not here and… turns your head when you are here again. Vladivostok is my love.
