  2. PRONOM RELATIF • Défintion: Le pronom relatif remplace un nom ou un pronom, nommé antécédent, exprimé dans la proposition qui précède. Il établit ainsi une relation entre cette proposition et la seconde, dite relative, qui complète ou explique cet antécédent. La réussite dont nous avons tant rêvé est pour bientôt.

Place du pronom relatif • Précédé ou non d’une préposition , le pronom relatif est placé en tête de la proposition relative et immédiatement après son antécédent Il revoyait dans son rêve cette maison dont il connaissait presque chaque pierre. • Séparé de son antécédent lorsque celui-ci est suivi d’un adjectif, d’un complément du nom ou lorsqu’il s’agit d’un pronom personnel Je le vis qui ramassait un petit bout de papier.
