September 30, 2014 - Stargirl introduction Homework: Bring your copy of Stargirl for tomorrow's class. Objective I can become familiar with the author and content of Stargirl prior to reading the book. Warm Up: Using the dictionary on your desk, look up the definition for the word CONFORM and NONCONFORMIST and copy it into your notes. After you have done this, write a paragraph explaining whether you believe that you are more of a conformist or a nonconformist. Give examples and details to support yourself.
conform to act in agreement with established customs , rules or styles http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs13/i/2007/070/e/0/Conformity_by_Vicodininja.jpg
nonconformist a person who does not act in accordance with or refuses to follow generally accepted customs, beliefs or ways of doing things https://c1.staticflickr.com/9/8070/8227555373_72d347a5fc_z.jpg
So now I am going to split you into groups based on your conformity / nonconformity. You will need to come up with as many examples as you can of ways that people in your group do and don't conform to things in our society. Be specific and come up with as many bullets as you can!
Stargirl is a book that deals with the topic of conformity. http://d.gr-assets.com/books/1335947642l/22232.jpg
