Breaching Confidentiality • ASK offers a confidential service Nothing you tell us will be shared with any other organisation or individual without your expressed permission, unless in exceptional circumstances, such as: • disclosure of information is required by law – see below • a client or someone else is in danger (includes child abuse) • a potential conflict of interest exists • where a service user has to be removed due to violent, abusive or threatening behaviour • A copy of our Confidentiality Policy is available in ASK Reception, on the notice boards and on-line at www.keelesu.com Disclosure required by law includes: • The Terrorism Act 2000. • Child Protection legislation, including the Children’s Act 1989 • Social Security Administration (Fraud) Act 1997 January 2014
What happens when we’re closed? If the door is closed: • If we are still here, outside our opening hours (10-4), we are still working; we might be updating records, writing letters, reading essential updates / journals, or meeting to discuss important issues. So, please only knock, if it is really important. If we are not here, please see our opening times below. What can you do if we are closed? • You can leave application forms with KeeleSU Reception. You can look for information on our websites, or you can email us. ASK is open 10am – 4pm. • You can see an advisor from 10-12pm for pre-booked appointments, or ‘drop in’ to see an advisor 12-4pm. SU Jobshop is open 10am – 4pm. We all close for ½ hour lunch 12.30 – 1pm. Thank you for your co-operation and understanding.
