Waste Statistics Regulation • Passed in 2002 • First reporting 2006 - data for 2004 • Reporting every second year • Replaces the Eurostat/OECD joint questionnaire for EU Member States • Replaces other EU reporting obligations? • Covers 20 sectors; 48 waste categories; 3 kinds of treatment
Data on disposal and recovery facilities • Number of operation facilities (NUTS 2) • Capacity of the operations (NUTS 2)

Reporting obligations for packaging waste • Targets 2008: • 60% recovery of packaging waste • Recycling • Glass: 60% • Paper and board: 60% • Metals: 50% • Plastic: 22,5% • Wood: 15% • Total packaging: 55%
