  1. Water Pioneers Community Project 2007 ‘Water’ you waiting for? Make a difference in your community!

Objective/Overview: • By working in my community, I wanted to educate students about their watersheds, how they affect them, and what they can do to improve the water’s quality. • I informed the students about certain parts or matter that can affect their water, such as pollution. I also mentioned some ways to conserve our water, which can easily be used in everyday living. • Together, with a 7th grade class, I demonstrated the effects of pollution on our watershed using different colored soft drinks, and three bowls of water.

  3. The steps I needed to take to make this project a success included: • Confirming date of presentation with school. • Researching information about watersheds, mine specifically, and its water quality. • Collaborating with teachers to construct a lesson plan that will eventually benefit me in my career choice, education. • Cooperation of students, school staff, and my family.
