We use the Present Continuous Tense to talk about: • An action that is happening at the time of speaking • Please be quiet. I am watching TV. • I am teaching right now. • I am not sleeping. • Actions that are happening in the near future. • He is having dinner with Sue tonight. • They are going to Eurupe next week. • Are you leaving tomorrow morning?
Form: (+) Affirmative = S.A.G. S.A.G. = (Subject + Auxiliary verb “be” + Gerund) *Gerund = Verb + ing
Form: (-) Negative = S.A. “not” G. S.A. “not” G. = Subject + Auxiliary verb “be” + “not”+ Gerund
Form: (?) Yes / No Question = A.S.G. A.S.G. = Auxiliary Verb “be” + Subject + Gerund * There is no contracted form in Questions.
Form: (?) Follow Up Questions - Q.A.S.G. Q.A.S.G. = Question Word + Auxiliary Verb “Be” + Subject + Gerund.
