  2. René Cassin was born in Bayonne, France. He attended University of Aix-en-Provence. He graduated in 1908, with degrees in the humanities and in law. - He was a Professor of Law at the University of Aix-en-Provence. He founded the French Disabled Veterans Association (1918).
