Great Planning Is Always A Good Start For All Hunting Activities Hunters all over the world are, in the main, looking for the same thing, i.e., leaving with fond memories after their outing and hoping to cherish their time out there for a long time still. This may include leaving with great prey with impressive antlers, quality meat, good accommodations during their stay, and having forged great friendships. It also refers to how easy (or not) it is to organize their hunt. This, invariably, poses the question: do I organize my hunting trip on my own – maybe with one friend – or do I join a hunting club? For many hunters, the idea of the hunting club makes a great deal of sense since it helps simplify the whole process. Finding the right club helps to minimize problems and it helps everyone to benefit from one another’s input. In many countries of the world, for example in the South of the US, where hunting forms part of not only a huge industry but also offers thousands of hunters some truly great opportunities to practice their favorite pastime, hunters can plan their hunt way ahead of time. Of course, individual needs and requirements differ, so it is important to find what suits one’s profile best. For some, this means to do it on their own, for others the answer is to join a hunting club, of which there are numerous examples throughout all of those states where, say, deer hunting is popular. In Southeast Alabama, Mississippi, Virginia, and others come to mind. Hunting clubs simplify matters for the individual since it helps to throw light on some important issues. Firstly, by being a member of such as club, many hunters get the opportunity to become a member of a lease that may not be affordable if you lease a certain piece of land on your own. By pooling finances and resources, a good lease suddenly is within reach of many who may otherwise have had to forego a good opportunity as the total cost of a good lease may make it too expensive for most individuals. Hunting clubs, as opposed to the individual, may also be in a position to conclude a better deal with landowners and/or their representatives. A word of advice: deal with a recommended service such as an agency or company known for being good managers of leases, those leases
that are offered to represent value, those leases known for being managed by good ethical hunting practices. A little bit of homework quickly points you in the right direction – to a company, service, or landlord known for having good systems and herd management plans in place. Good management ensures that great animal herds roam a property. The club wants to know their hunters are offered the best chance at taking down a quality buck and other prey. And, good camaraderie is invaluable. As a member of a great hunting club, you ensure that you make great memories, that you meet and mix with like-minded people, you give yourself the chance to benefit from other hunters’ experience and assistance in many ways. Members assist with dragging, moving, and loading buck after the hunt, they help you to hang stands, they assist one another with cutting lanes; they assist with planting food plots, collecting data during the hunt to aid future hunts. Club members take part in joint decisions, such as helping everybody to choose the best, most affordable lease, to help gather additional information; they all play their part to make the experience one of shared success for everyone else. It helps with booking campsites, accommodations, lodges – and costs involved. Good planning is essential whether you hunt on your own or join a club. For many, club membership makes perfect sense as it helps to simplify matters – and reduce unnecessary stress.
