Thecommonapproachto MEL and SA The purpose of the Common Approach to MEL and SA is to promote collaborative and effective, results-focused, and accountable MEL practice and Social Accountability practice at Oxfam Programs and Projects BY: • Establishing a clear and coherent Approach • providing with a set of minimum requirements for MEL and SA. • Making guidelines, tools and formats available. • Developing a foundation for enhanced Program quality, MEL and strengthened accountability. • The common approach focuses on specific aspects of MEL and Social Accountability that need to happen at every stage or phase of the program or project management cycle: • Minimum requirements to be implemented • Good practices not mandatory bur suggested • Recomended tools and methods that could facilitate the work of the teams

  2. Identification • Assessment/ Appraisal Good Practice: Identification of primary change agents could include other types of disaggregation beyond sex. Depending on the program priorities, they can be disaggregated by age, ethnicity, identity dimensions such as religion, geographical origin, etc.
