Law enforcement chaplain training The American Police Chaplain’s Associationwas started in 2007 by Chaplain Jim Salo, who had a dream as a police officer in the 70’s to see that all police officers had a copy of the new testament. His desire was that they would get to know the God of the Bible – who gave us our jobs in the first place (Romans 13). A police career following God’s principles would work the best in giving every law enforcement officer in America a long and fulfilling career. After 34 years in law enforcement, that dream has come true – with the help of many of Chaplain Jim’s fellow officers who now serve on the Board of Directors, APCA now has chaplains all across America.
