  2. Background • M&E Framework was developed in 2006 to improve project management • M&EF contains information on monitoring and evaluation principles, arrangements, responsibilities and expected outcomes; • PRIDE M&E Handbook was produced as an operational guideline

Purpose of M&E Assess achievement of project overall objective, purpose and results Assess project performance in delivering activities and producing results in an effective, efficient and timely manner Review major risks to achievement of results and outcomes Ensure that appropriate and efficient administrative and financial management procedures are implemented and adhered to, and Capture lessons to improve project performance or develop better programs in the future

Outline of M&EF • It is based an analysis of project purpose, implementation and reporting arrangements, and includes: • The objectives of M&E system • Requirement of users of M&E information • Sources of relevant information • Responsibilities of M&E at various levels • How M&E information is to be collected, reported and used

What is taking place with PRIDE M&E\ • PRIDE Project is using the information collected through the M&E as part of its planning and management process. • Countries provide quarterly Progress and Completion reports on subproject implementation • Countries provide annual National Benchmark and National Outcome Reports
