Service implementation on CANARIE network • Design and implement the routing to carry full table • Technical and financial aspects of setting up the links to ISPs • Operational requirements and procedures to manage and support the service 2. Service implementation on ORAN/university networks • Service roll out by ORANs • Service roll out by Universities/connected institutions

Connectivity to IXs/ISPs • Hurricane Electric and Tata Communications (formerly Teleglobe) have been identified as ISPs able to provide global connectivity. • The connectivity will be established through Internet eXchanges and direct links. • Toronto (TORIX) and Seattle (SIX) • Direct links will be set up with Tata Communications, CANIX in Montreal and Harbour Center in Vancouver. • New router - Logical System on BCNET core router in Vancouver • Content providers: Google (PWave, SIX and TORIX) • Exploring other scenarios (NYIIX, Chicago,NORDUnet)

  5. Current Status • Peering • HE up and running • Google up and running • Tata pending All were expected to be in production by July 1st! • Some NOC tools are now IPv6 ready • DNS ..in progress • CANARIE Routing Registry

Service rollout by ORAN Help ORANs to deploy IPv6 and extend the service to end institutions/users • Service roll out and support • Definition of ‘full support’ and documentation/testing of this functionality for each ORAN/GigaPop is an objective. • Work on strategies to ensure all ORANs have full IPv6 support in a reasonable time frame. • Expert assistance with the service roll-out • Knowledge/experience transfer/sharing between ORANs • Organize training sessions • a showcase ORAN and university
