  1. CDS CONSULTANTS MANUFACTURERS & SUPPLIERS OF EQUIPMENT WORLDWIDE

  2. HISTORY OF CDS • CDS was established in 1985 with the vision of providing a comprehensive service which acts as consultancy for consumers seeking specialised machinery as well as anti corrosion products. • In recent years we have diversified into broader aspects of engineering facilitating the growth of the business and increased global opportunities. • We have a wealth of experience and in-depth product knowledge which covers our portfolio comprehensively.

  3. OUR OBJECTIVES • To provide high quality products accompanied with high quality customer service. • To understand our customers and endeavour to meet their requirements. Through prompt and efficient responses to consumers we hope to sustain competitive advantage.

  4. OUR PORTFOLIO • Abrasive blast cleaning machines • The most complete range with abrasive capacities from 5 kgs to 400kgs. • We design special purpose machines and deliver all over the world.

  5. COMPRESSED AIR MACHINES • Saturated wet blast machines • Dust free blasting cleaning • Selective coating removal • Full range of capacities available

  6. COMPRESSED AIR MACHINES (CONTINUED) • Sophisticated range of air driven abrasive blast cleaning machines. • For use with abrasives such as plastic, carbides and calcium carbonates.

  7. AIRLESS MACHINES • Belt Barrel Machine • Dust Arresters – These can be made to individual specification. All dust arresters comply with the new European safety regulations regarding factory emissions • We offer a wide range of airless machines to meet your needs.

  8. Copper Slag -An expendable synthetic mineral abrasive which due to fast rates works well for open nozzle blasting, various grades are available. Olivine - A natural mineral abrasive ideally suited for cleaning of a brick masonry. A number of grades are available to suit applications. Omni - A synthetic mineral abrasive which is ideally suited to applications where a pale coloured abrasive in aesthetically or environmentally more desirable. Steel - High carbon steel short and grit are used in closed systems which employ impeller wheels to propel the abrasive. Available in different grades. Garnet - A hard, durable, low-dusting natural mineral abrasive which is capable of achieving high coverage rates. Applications include blasting of stainless steel and special alloys. Alumina - A very hard synthetic mineral abrasive which is generally used in small blast cabinets. Typically used for cleaning non-ferrous components & stainless steel. Vegetable Abrasives - NaturalOrganic abrasives such as crushed olive stone or dried corn cob have a gentle cleaning action suited to turbine blades or die and mould cleaning. Glass Bead - Very versatile material with a large variety of applications including deburring, deflashing, decarbonising, peening and mould and die cleaning. ABRASIVES

  9. SEMI AUTOMATIC DUST FREE SHOT BLASTING MACHINES • For large scale concrete floor preparation-completely dust free. • Floating roof preparation prior to painting. • The most complete range of sizes, power outputs and power packs.

  10. WIDE RANGE OF SPARES

  11. ERVIN AMASTEEL PRODUCTS • AMASTEEL Shot is actually a sphere-shaped form of steel casting. Born of a process that was developed and patented by John F. Ervin in 1939, shot is manufactured by pouring a molten mixture of premium grade steel scrap and select alloys through a series of water jets. • On contact with the water, the molten metal is atomised, forming round particles in a controlled range of sizes. These particles then fall into a water tank, are dried, screened by size, quenched and tempered in a unique heat treatment process. This process assures ultimate control over the microstructure and hardness of the product, prior to a final screening. • AMASTEEL shot has received more quality recognition awards than any other abrasive manufacturer in the world.

  12. ERVIN AMASTEEL PRODUCTS (1) STEEL SHOT DATA • The following are condensations of the Society of Automotive Engineers and Steel Founders' Society of America specifications for cast steel abrasives and include all of the essential features of both specifications. For greater details, request copies of these complete specifications from your Amasteel Representative. SOCIETY OF AUTOMOTIVE ENGINEERS J827 Cast Steel Shot • Chemical Analysis • Carbon0.85-1.2%Manganese      S-70 - S-1100.35-1.2%     S-1700.50- 1.2%     S-230 and Larger0.60 - 1.20%Silicon0.40% minimumSulfur0.05% maximumPhosphorous0.05% maximum • Microstructure • The microstructure of cast steel shot shall be uniform martensite tempered to a degree consistent with the hardness range, with fine well distributed carbides, if any. • Density • The density of cast steel shot shall be not less than 7 gm/cc. • General Appearance • The cast steel shot shall be as nearly spherical as commercially possible and no more than 20% of the shot particles shall have objectionable defects. • Hardness • Ninety percent of the hardness checks performed on a representative sample shall fall within the range of 390-510 VPN hardness number (40-50 HRC). (The hardness may be determined by any of the various methods applicable to small sections such as Tukon Tester with VPN indenter, at loads determined to provide a reliable conversion to Rockwell C.) (This is Ervin AMASTEEL 'S' hardness designed for shot and grit • Mechanical Tests • Several designs of shot testing machines are available commercially for application to routine procedures See SAE J445 for methods of checking uniformity of shipments of shot or grit to determine relative fatigue life of different types of shot or grit.

  13. ERVIN AMASTEEL PRODUCTS (1) STEEL SHOT (Continued) • Ervin AMASTEEL Special Hardness • L hardness - 90% minimum (55-60 HRC) 630 - 730 VPN H hardness - 90% minimum (60 HRC minimum) 700 VPN minimum. AMASTEEL is also available in other hardness ranges. For these requirements, the hardness of 90 % of the representative sample shall be within a 100 point VPN range (6 point HRC). • STEEL FOUNDERS'SOCIETY OF AMERICA 20-66 Standard Specification for Cast Steel Abrasives • Microstructure • The microstructure of the abrasive shall consist of martensite tempered to a degree consistent with the hardness range The presence of free ferrite or free graphite is unsatisfactory. • Voids • No more than 10% of cast steel abrasive particles shall contain voids as determined at 10X magnification A void must be greater than 10% of the area of the abrasive particle to be considered harmful. • Shrinkage • No more than 10% of cast steel abrasive particles shall contain shrinkage as deterwined at 10X magnification A shrinkage area must be greater than 40% of the area of the abrasive particle to be considered harmful. • Cracks • No more than 15% of cast steel shot particles, and no more than 40% of cast steel grit particles, shall have cracks as determined at 10X magnification. A crack is a linear discontinuity whose length is greater than 3 times its width and greater than 20% of the diameter • Particle Shape of Shot • When examined at 4X magnification, no more than 5% of the shot particles will have alength that is in excess of twice the cross section.
