  2. Graduation Requirements • English 4 credits • Social Studies 4 credits • Math 4 credits • Science 3 credits • Physical Education ¼ credit • PE Elective ¼ credit • Health ½ credit • Fine Artor Foreign 1 credit Language • Electives 4 credits • Pass all OGT’s

Preparing to Apply What can I do in the Fall? • Attend college fairs to speak with admissions reps to help narrow your search • Attend our financial aid night on September 14th at 6:00 @CHS in the auditorium • Start completing applications and applying for scholarship • Visit your favorite colleges again • Visit your final choices during the Senior Seminar in September

  5. How to Apply • Check the website for each university for which you plan to apply. Each university will have there own requirements. • Complete the online application • Send your ACT/ SAT scores directly to the college • In many cases, there is fee associated with applying to a college. • Your application will not be processed until these fees are paid.

  6. Common Application Most colleges require students to apply via the Common Application. The Common Application allows you to apply to several different universities at one time. There are detailed instructions on how to apply for colleges using the Common Application in the packet that you received today It is very important to invite your counselor to send a recommendation

  7. Transcript Request Forms • After you have completed your application for admission, you will need to turn in a transcript release form to your counselor. After receiving the form, your counselor will send the transcript to the college that you request. • Transcript release forms are available in the guidance office. • Please allow 5 business days for processing by your counselor.

  8. Deadlines • Colleges have very strict deadlines for admissions, special programs and scholarships. Check with all schools that you may wish to apply to make sure that you are meeting their deadlines. • University of Cincinnati December 1st for scholarships • Ohio State November 1st Scholarships and Honors • Miami University December 1st Early Action

  9. FAFSA • After you have completed your application, you need to start preparing to apply for Financial Aid. • Completing the Free Application For Federal Student Aid will allow you to apply for grants, scholarships and student loans • The application will become available on October 1st , and you will use your family’s tax information for 2015. • We will have a FAFSA information session here on September 14. www.fafsa.gov

  10. Scholarships • Check the guidance website to gain access to several local and national scholarships. It is best to check on a regular basis. Scholarships are updated weekly. Pay close attention to the deadline dates. • You can access the website at chs.nwlsd.org
