  2. The conditional is formed in much the same way as the future. For most verbs, the conditional endings are attached to the end of the infinitive. The endings are the same for all verbs. hablarbebervivir yo hablaría bebería viviría tú hablarías beberías vivirías Ud., él/ella hablaría bebería viviría nosotros/as hablaríamos beberíamos viviríamos vosotros/as hablaríais beberíais viviríais Uds., ellos/as hablarían beberían vivirían

  3. The same verbs that are irregular in the future tense are also irregular in the conditional. The stems are the same in both tenses. infinitivoraíz (stem)formas del condicional decir dir- diría, etc. hacer har- haría, etc. haber habr- habría, etc. poder podr- podría, etc. poner pondr- pondría, , etc. querer querr- querría, , etc. saber sabr- sabría, , etc. salir saldr- saldría, , etc. tener tendr- tendría, , etc. venir vendr- vendría, , etc.

  4. The conditional and the past subjunctive are often used together to express hypothetical situations. The verb that follows the word si (if) is conjugated in the past subjunctive. ¿Qué harías si ganaras a la lotería? What would you do if you won the lottery? ↑ ↑ conditional past subjunctive Si yo fuera tú, no saldría con ese chico. If I were you, I wouldn’t go out with that boy. ↑ ↑ past subjunctive conditional
