  2. Introduction In order to be able to look at the waveform data at your infrasound stations you will need to set up software on your laptop PC and configure it. When at the station you will need to configure the station to stream the data to your laptop. (Once configured the station will stop transmitting over the Vsat Link and stream all data to your PC until you switch it back.) This tutorial and software setup has been customized to the Ecuador Stations RIOE, LITE and MACE. • Download Laptop Software • Install and configure your laptop for the field work • Keep these instructions and follow the directions while you are in the field. (Please pre-read and ask any questions prior to leaving for the field.) • Be sure to reset the station upon completion and (Verify the station is Back on Line by calling the IG to check the earthworm link or calling Calvin in Canada).

  3. Download and install the NMX Software Download Java only If you need it Download the Nmx.zip file Be sure to install Java Runtime Environment on your PC (It may already be there)

  4. Laptop Setup If you have an exiting Nmx Directory, Rename it to NMX-old Unzip the Nmx.zip File and Place it in the C:\ Directory

  5. Set Environnent Variables Right Click on My the My Computer Icon - Properties

  6. Add to the Path in your environment variables Add the following ;c:\nmx\bin Select Path then Edit

  7. Software Explanation CD to c:\Nmx\User Naqsserver is the background process which Receives the incoming data from the station. It also is allows the waveform and Naqsview Programs to connect to the naqsserver and Display the data real time on your laptop. The Batch files 1-LITE, 2-RIOE and 3-MACE Open the waveform application and display The local waveform data or the associated Station which the laptop is connected to. Naqsview is a tool which shows the SOH (State of Health) Data from the station LibraGUI is the configuration tool for the station The rest of the files are config files which Are required to run the software.

  8. IP setup on Laptop for station interface when you arrive at the station Select Select Set the IP On your laptop

  9. Log in to the station using Libgui (Recommend you screen capture these prior to editing them.) Select Test Submit Only

  10. Configure the Station to stream data to your local naqsserver This Is an example Libgui only Change these IP’s 199.71.138.30This is the local Laptop IP. Submit Only

  11. Start the Naqsserver Execute Naqsserver This Window will open up

  12. Start the Waveform Tool Execute the Batch file For the station you are at. The following Window will Open and display The waveform. Waveform should display Connection Dialog should show Connected

  13. Reboot the system when done Power cycle the station When you are done And verify the settings Have reset back for Regular station operation. Call and verify the Station data is being Streamed. Check this 225.1.1.1 Check this is Normal Mode And this 192.168.0.10

  14. Data and Files Created Ringbuffers collect the data Locally on your PC. There are tools to extract this data However that is another subject for Discussion later.
