  2. Living hens often escape from their battery cages, only to fall into the vast manure pits below the cages, where they slowly languish and die.

  3. Female pigs used for breeding (called 'breeding sows' by industry) are confined most of their lives in 'gestation crates' which are so small that they cannot even turn around. The pigs' basic needs are denied, and they experience severe physical and psychological disorders

  4. Downed calves left to die without any help

  5. Crates full of chickens on the way to the slaughterhouse. Transport puts a lot of stress on the birds and many are killed in transit.
