Life Safety System Ed Lewis Chief Engineer
Life Safety System Sprinkler System: Heat censored to discharge water.
Life Safety System Manual Fire Pull Boxes: Located next to stairwells & elevator lobbies – activates system.
Life Safety System Strobes & Speakers: Audio visual communication of system.
Life Safety System Smoke & Duct Detectors: Located throughout property to provide initial warning signal of a fire in the building.
Life Safety System • Stairwell Doors Fire rated & must be kept closed at all times. Remains locked during a non-emergency. Use door handle only. Do not place hands between doorframe and door. • Pressurization System Fresh air is pumped into stairwells during emergency.
Life Safety System Fire Extinguisher: Located by each stairwell door & throughout floor.
Life Safety System • Computer System Located at #2305 (Bldg. Mgmt.), Fire Control Room, & security desk for monitoring 24-hours per day.

Emergency ProceduresAll Occupants • An Emergency Commences. • Sensory Emergency • Visual or audible Alarm. Note: For the Fire Drill Only A pull station will be pulled to set off the alarm Wailing Tone Voice Message
Floor Warden & Safety Monitor Responsibilities • Put on orange vest & make yourself visible. • Commence evacuation in your suite. • Insure that evacuation is commencing in an orderly fashion.
Emergency ProceduresAll Occupants • Proceed to nearest stairwell. • Walk, DO NOT RUN. • DO NOT USE THE ELEVATORS.

Emergency ProceduresAll Occupants High-rise Tenants (Floors 2 – 25) SW#2 • Ewa = Stairwell #2 • Diamond Head = Stairwell #1 SW#1
Floor Warden & Safety Monitor Responsibilities • If at all possible, leave doors closed but unlocked. • Take special needs person(s) from your suite only to designated safe area on your floor. • Primary Floor Warden, account for who is in your safe area from your floor and complete form at the safe site when floor is cleared. Note: Honolulu Fire Dept. (HFD) will only assist in evacuating areas that HFD deems necessary.
Emergency ProceduresAll Occupants 3. Proceed into stairwell. Stay to the right & hold the railing.
Emergency ProceduresAll Occupants • If stairwell becomes unusable, leave at closest exit & proceed to alternate stairwell. • Only proceed to a higher floor or the roof if instructed to do so through the emergency broadcast system.
Floor Warden & Safety Monitor Responsibilities • Check restrooms by knocking on doors and stating “emergency” in progress. • Proceed to exit via stairwell. DO NOT USE Elevators.

Floor Warden & Safety Monitor Responsibilities Proceed to Safe Site and check in with building management personnel. Union Mall Safe Site – Hotel St. Bus Stop
Floor Warden & Safety Monitor Responsibilities Primary Floor Warden complete form as required by the Honolulu Fire Department Ordinance.
Emergency ProceduresAll Occupants • Wait for announcement to re-enter the building.
