This study investigates the stratospheric circulation and global meridional circulation using observations from UARS (HALOE). The analysis includes tracer field vortex, entrained tropical air, and contour advection. It also explores gyroscopic stability, wave pumping, and polar descent. The study was conducted in various locations including Arena Arctica, Kiruna, and Esrange. The gravity wave pump and its impact on polar descent are discussed.
