Activate your background knowledge of topics presented • Predict as you listen (topic, how people might react, what people might say)
Focus on the purpose of your listening Do care and focus on what you understand not what you don't understand • Listen to each other in class Compare responses and discuss differences (if you don't get it from the CD, then try to figure out from peers' answers)
Work on the purpose of your listening NOT each word you don't comprehend . • Guess meaning from context . • Practice listening to English (songs, movies, TV series, magazines) outside class whenever possible.
