As far as his personal life is concerned, Pieter Stalenhoef enjoys skiing in the little time he spares from work. Even though he finds skiing to be a rewarding form of exercise, he still believes that it can be challenging for
beginners. In his opinion, having the right mindset, tools, and equipment is very important for anyone to become a skilled skier. He has also shared a few tips from his experience to help novices in boosting their skiing skills. 1.Pieter suggests buying a season’s pass, so you can ski at one location as many times as you want. Though obtaining a pass can be expensive, it enables beginners to focus on mastering a specific set of trails. This way, new skiers can ski for multiple days in a row on the same trails. In bad weather, they can even enjoy the views and trade tips with other skiers. 2.Pieter suggests not pushing yourself too hard. Skiing too quickly on a trail can prevent beginners from focusing on learning the right techniques which are essential for safe and enjoyable skiing. 3.Learn to control your skis, and don’t let your skis control you. The key to ski control, according to Pieter Stalenhoef, is leaning forward. While this may feel scary at first, it centers a skier’s gravity and allows new skiers to take greater control of their skis.
