FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: MEEKNESS • A. Opposite of pride & willfulness (1Tim. 6:11,3-5). • B. Necessary in receiving God’s word (Js 1:21). • 1. Things revealed that we disagree with (Prov. 23:13-14; 1 Cor. 11:14-15; 1 Cor. 5) • 2. Things not revealed (Deut. 29:29; 1 Cor. 4:6) II. MEEKNESS TOWARDS GOD • 3. Areas of judgment (1 Cor.9:19-22; 10:23-33). • C. An essential part of sanctifying Christ as Lord in our hearts (1 Pet. 3:15).
FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: MEEKNESS • A. Rejoices not in power (Luke 10:17-20). • B. Bears with others (Col. 3:12). • 1. Alien sinners (Titus 3:2-3; 1 Pet. 3:4) • 2. Erring brethren (Gal. 6:1; 1 Cor. 4:21; 2 Cor. 10:1-2; 12:19-13:3; 2 Tim. 2:24-26). III. MEEKNESS TOWARDS MEN • C. Is SHOWN by wise actions (Jas. 3:13-18).
IV. IS REWARDED BY GOD FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT: MEEKNESS • A. In This Life (Mt. 5:5; 1 Tim. 4:8a). • B. The Next (1 Tim.4:8b; Ps.149:4; Js.1:21). CONCLUSION: • 1. An self-diminishing attitude, a disposition that controls & harnesses its strength for proper use & service. • 2. Directs us to receive God’s word without disputing or resisting it. • 3. Guides our actions to the spiritual benefit & service of others. • Is This Aspect Of The Spirit’s Fruit In Us?
