  1. LAMPEDUSA, ITALY In 2013, Rabbit Beach, located in the southern part of the island, was voted the world's best beach. Since 2013, civil wars and oppressive regimes in the Middle East and Africa have forced ever-increasing numbers of people on the dangerous journey to Europe, having a negative impact on tourism in Lampedusa Island.
