  3. True Gospel Preaching… Is from the word of God • NOT from philosophies of men • 1 Cor. 2:1-5 • Romans 1:16-17 • 1 Thess. 2:13 • The Bible is not something to play with. Reverence it!

  4. True Gospel Preaching… True Gospel Preaching… Is balanced • Both positive & negative topics. The WHOLE counsel of God. • 2 Tim. 4:2-4, 3:16-17 • Col. 1:28 • Titus 2:15

  5. True Gospel Preaching… True Gospel Preaching… True Gospel Preaching… Is what is needed • NOT what one wants. • 2 Tim. 4:2 • 2 Sam. 12:7 • Jeremiah 6:16, 11:21 • Isaiah 30:9-11 When a certain subject is avoided, chances are that is what needs to be addressed the most!

  6. True Gospel Preaching… Is timely • About what is needed RIGHT NOW! • At times error MUST be exposed • At other times, encouragement is needed. • Some subjects are ALWAYS timely! (Authority, godliness, etc.)

  7. True Gospel Preaching… Is specific • Must deal with more than generalities • James 4:17,1 Cor. 14:8 • What about “name calling”?Acts 2:22,23, Gal. 2:11-14 1 Tim. 5:20, 1:20, Ac. 7:51-53, Gal. 4:16

  8. True Gospel Preaching… Is with godly motives • Preached in love – 1 Cor. 13:4-7, 1 Tim. 1:5, 4:12 • Sincerity 1 Tim. 1:5, 2 Tim. 1:5 • Humility – Jas. 3:1, 1 Cor. 2:1-3, 2 Tim. 2:25 • 1 Timothy 6:11

  9. True Gospel Preaching… Will offend some people • Never will all accept the truth! 1Cor. 1:23 • Matthew 11:6, 15:12-14 • 1 Peter 2:8 – the disobedient

  10. Let us accept nothing less than the WHOLE counsel of God!
