  1. Chemistry of Fire Laboratory Report

  2. Which line shows the most efficient heating of the water. Explain why you chose this line. The one closest to the burner is the most efficient. The temperature rises the most rapidly for this trial.

  3. What are the advantages of using a blue flame instead of a yellow one for heating objects in the laboratory? The blue flame burns cleaner and heats better than the yellow one.

  4. Where is the hottest part of the blue flame? The hottest part is just about the inner blue cone.

  5. When heating a substance over a Bunsen burner where should the object be placed for most efficient heating? Why? The object should be placed at the tip of the inner blue cone or as close as possible to it. This allows the heat to warm the object most efficiently.

  6. How does graphing data help to determine the most efficient height for heating a liquid in a beaker? It shows visually the most efficient heating by the steepest slope.
