Workflow and Business Process Management Problems in BPM: • Many modeling languages • e.g. BPMN, BPDM, EPCs, UML Activity diagrams • Many process languages and technical formats • XPDL, jPDL, BPEL,... • Even more process engine implementations • e.g. open source process engines like jBoss jBPM, OW2 / Bull Bonita & Orchestra, Apache ODE, … • Many tools for modeling languages and process engines, • but most of them are not compatible
Java Workflow Tooling (JWT) Goals of JWT: • Support for workflow and business process modeling, deployment, execution and monitoring in Eclipse • Providing a complete, flexible, interoperable and usable BPM solution • Set of generic and extensible plugins and APIs • Extensions allowing support for specific business representations, process language formats, process engines, service platforms, etc. • Targeting and supporting SOA in close collaboration with the Eclipse STP project
