  1. Is your car monsoon ready?

  2. Introduction • The onset of monsoon is a sigh of relief after the unbearable summer. • There’s a stark rise on weekend gateways, during the monsoonseason. • Driving in the rain can be fun, but at the same time it has its own set of challenges. • The following slides offer a comprehensive checklist that needs to be ticked off before taking out the car in the monsoon season.

  3. Keep car covered • It is important to keep the car covered, when not in use, especially during monsoons. • Because rainwater can damage the exterior and interiors of a car.

  4. Check wiper blades • Rainwater makes the windshield dirty which reduces visibility. • Therefore before leaving the house, ensure that the wiper blades function properly.

  5. Check tyres • Wet roads and water-filled potholes make driving more challenging during the monsoon season. • Treads help to maintain grip and prevent water from accumulating under the tyre. • Hence, a tread check of the tyre becomes a necessity during rainy seasons.

  6. Check car lights • Ensure that all the lights of the car are functioning properlybefore going for a drive. • The lights include the parking lamps, headlamps, tail lamps, brake lights, fog lights, number plate lights and turn indicators.

  7. Check windshield • Check the windshield for cracks and chips. • As rainwater can seep through the tiniest crack and dampen the car interiors. • Therefore, make sure to fix the windshield before heading out for a long drive this monsoon season.
