Iroquois (Huey) The Bell UH-1 Iroquois (Huey) was a military helicopter that U.S military used to bring supplies and move the injured. There were ~7,000 deployed in Vietnam and it raised troop morale because it was a strong asset to many battles and let them know they would be flown to a infirmary. Douglas AC-47 Spooky • The Douglas AC-47 Spooky was a US gun ship that helped assist ground forces. • It helped raise moral of the troops because it gave them support and cover fire for hours, and it was also used to drop flares in certain situations. • The aircraft was very vulnerable to close range ground fire so the Vietcong could easily focus fire on the plane.
