Research Plan • Performance Modeling of Networked Display • Media contents model, Machine resources model … • How many media contents (HD Video) can be visualized on networked display? • Resource Management in Display Manager • Selection of decoder and displayer in networked tiled display • DXT Compression • Frame control • Priority-based adaptation of media content (extend Collabtech 2008) • Frame dropping based on difference between before and after frame

  5. Internship Plan • Place: Hit Lab NZ • Period: January 11, 2009 ~ March 11, 2009 • Work • Recompile, tests, make operational the H.264/MPEG4 version of vic on Windows • Support for HD video with an HDV camera through IEEE1394 & HDMI • Support for uncompressed HD from semi-pro HD camera

Expected Output • Research • Outline of Master Thesis • Basis of Performance Modeling of Networked Display • Resource Management in Networked Tiled Display • A module of Display Manager • Frame dropping based on difference between before and after frame (v0.1) • Internship in HIT Lab NZ • Installation Manual (H.264/MPEG4 version of vic on Windows) • Distribute source code through svn (HD transmission application)
