Ananas je pestovan v rade tropickych a teplejsich subtropickych zemi, priblizne mezi 25deg severni a 25deg jizni sirky. Plodenstvi o hmotnosti 0,5-3,5 kg (miniananasy i mene) je slozeno ze 100 i vice bobulovitych plodu. Z celeho plodenstvi tvori asi 65-70 % hmotnosti duznina, 20-25 % ,,slupka", 4-6 % terminalni ruzice a 4-6 % zduznatele vreteno kvetenstvi ...
