Agra Fort is a historic fort in the city of Agra (Uttar Pradesh) in India. It covers an area of 0.4 km2 parallel to the river Yamuna in the length of almost 2.5 km. Its walls are more than 20 m high. The fortress gained its present appearance in the second half of the 16th century during the reign of Akbar - one of the greatest Mughal emperors. Around 4,000 workers worked on the construction site during the eight years. It was completed in 1573.   6. Agra Fort is a historic fort in the city of Agra (Uttar Pradesh) in India. It covers an area of 0.4 km2 parallel to the river Yamuna in the length of almost 2.5 km. Its walls are more than 20 m high. The fortress gained its present appearance in the second half of the 16th century during the reign of Akbar - one of the greatest Mughal emperors. Around 4,000 workers worked on the construction site during the eight years. It was completed in 1573. Among the preserved palaces are the most important MacchiBhavan, Khas Mahal and Shah Jahani Mahal. The fort was the main seat of the emperors of the Mughal dynasty until 1638. It was also the site of a battle during the Indian Rebellion of 1857, which ended the rule of the British East India Company in India and led to a century of direct British domination over India. Agra Fort has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1983. El Fuerte de Agra es un fuerte histórico en la ciudad de Agra (Uttar Pradesh) en India. Bola tiež miestom bitky počas indického povstania v roku 1857, ktorá ukončila nadvládu Britskej Východoindickej spoločnosti v Indii a viedla k storočiu priamej nadvlády Británie nad Indiou.
