NASSGAP Survey Data- What's it to ya and who wants to know?
I. We fill out this survey every year- who uses this stuff? Anybody?
The bottom line This is important and people use it.
II. Tables like you've never seen 'em… …and may not want to.
Combined Table 2 and 3 - All Aid by Type
Table 10 - Primary Program with a new column - merit component
What's the point? The point is simple- that apples to apples comparisons are hard and the better the data are, the more useful the survey as a resource can become to others and to us.
III. A few data issues for discussion… …or debate
2. Some programs have recipients that aren't postsecondary students
Agriculture Education Loan Forgiveness Program Prepaid Tuition Scholarships Primary Health Care Loan Forgiveness State Veteran Home Nursing Loan Forgiveness Nurse Educator Loan Forgiveness Program Armed Forces Loan Forgiveness Doctoral Incentive Loan Repayment Program National Board for Professional Teaching Standards Loan Teacher/Child Care Provider Loan Repayment Dental Education Loan Repayment
IV. And finally, got any questions? Really. We need a couple of questions.
1. Annual Survey question Does your state use metrics or measures such as college graduation rates of aid recipients or courses completed by aid recipients upon which the "success" of need-based programs is/can be evaluated? Do you evaluate programs in ways other than the number of students and amount of money awarded in a particular academic year? If so, how? How does your state/agency document that its programs are successful, if it does? 38 responses
2. Question 40 In addition to any comments you made in the individual programs, is there any information you would like to share that might be helpful in interpreting the data you have reported on this survey? 9 responses
3. Anything under the sun survey or state data related that you want to talk about or ask about.
