  4. The CcIPA Model

  5. 5Cs Model Originally from European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM)

  6. Two stage Implementation • Quick scan: apply the logic and 5C models; • focus on immediate outputs and short-term outcomes • stories and speculations about potential impact • identify key in-depth study needs

  7. Two stage Implementation • In-depth study: situation before intervention; scope, data collection, analysis, and reporting structured around impact dimensions

  8. Lessons learned for innovations in evaluation • The model found relevant and useful • Peg some data collection to other evaluative activities to rationalise resources • External evaluator needs to have good knowledge about the organisation

  9. Advise to users of CcIPA • Planning and timing of the implementation of the study is critical to its success • It is important to be mindful of the internal dynamics in the organisations that may affect 5Cs assessment scores

  10. Acknowledgements • CcIPA model was proposed and led by Dr. Ibrahim Khadar of Technical Centre for Agriculture and Rural Cooperation (CTA) • Model developed in partnership with CTA implementing partners: ANAFE, CARDI, CaFAN, EAFF, FANRPAN, IPACC, KENFAP, RTN, and RUFORUM; and expert consulting partners: CDI, MDF, ECDPM, eNovation4D, Agriterra, and IDRC • The 5Cs model originated from the European Centre for Development Policy Management (ECDPM)
