  1. Parent Governor Thank you to all who returned the Parent Governor voting forms. I am pleased to inform you our Parent Governors are Ruksana Rafique and Mehdi Aftab. I would like to thank Ansar Rafiq for his interest. • Children’s University • Reading Stars and Little Bookworms – Do not forget the sign up is THIS Saturday (8th February) between 11:30am to 12:30pm at Blackburn Library. Come and sign up to collect extra hours for Children’s University. • Trip to Manchester United and Imperial War Museum –This is on Sunday 23rd March. Please return money and slip in an envelope with your child's name and class to the office. • Law Activity – Please note, this is on Saturday 1st March for Year 5 and 6 at Blackburn University. 01254 54851 Talk Homework Next week we will be introducing ‘Talk Homework’. Your child will come home with different topics every week for you to explore and talk about with them. Look out for the letter with more information. Contact details Please ensure we have up to date contact information for you in School. It is very important we are given changes to numbers as soon as possible so that you are easily contactable in case of an emergency. Thank you. Wensley Fold Scouts Wensley Fold Scouts are holding a ‘Premier’ big screen showing of the Disney movie ‘Frozen on Saturday 22nd February. Doors open at 10am for a 10:30am screening. Tickets are £4 which include refreshments. Please ring Sara Casey on 07805929965 for further information and tickets. Thank you to all parents who helped make our phonics workshop a success. If any parents would like to learn more about how to help their child with phonics, please contact Mrs Tattersall at School. Friday 7th February 2014 Newsletter Reminder School closes at 3:05pm for half term next Friday 14th February. Re-opens on Monday 24th February, at 8:50am. Wishing you all a peaceful half term break. Your child will have brought home a ‘Yellow Moon’ booklet, packed full of fun ideas for arts and crafts. Please help with our school fundraising by quoting source code ‘SSA1180’ on all orders placed. Thank you. Breakfast Club Children are welcome to attend Breakfast Club from 8:00am until 8:30am every morning. Breakfast club is £1 per child per day and everyone is welcome. Breakfast Club is free if your child is entitled to free school meals. Tuesday Treat next week will be ‘Mango Smoothie’. Charity Day Next Friday is ‘Charity Day’. For a £1 donation towards your child’s class charity, children can come to school in non-uniform. You generosity is hugely appreciated by all of our class charities. Thank you. Fantastic Friday – Friday 14th February 2014 Children who are on packed lunch or home dinners during the week have the option of having a school dinner on a Friday. This is at a cost of £1.90. The menu is: Lamb burger with chips, jacket potato, sweetcorn, and ice lolly. Teller of the Week All of our Tellers this week have done a wonderful job of letting the school know who the Gold Book winners were in their class. The ‘Teller of the Week’ this week goes to Amaan Iqbal in Year 4. Well done Amaan! House Point winners this week are Rubies. Well done! Please note If your child is off from school due to sickness or diarrhoea,, please ensure they are back at school once they have fully recovered. This is usually 48 hours after the last episode.
