  2. For my Mentoring Project… • Worked with Kurt Thelen • Developed a Curriculum for a Biofuels Concentration • Created hypothetical courses

  3. So why was this done? • Confused about career choice • Wanted to do something meaningful to a larger segment of society • Had previous knowledge

  4. What was learned… • Curriculum planning is annoying! • Its hard to predict trends 5-10 years in the future • An emerging field is exciting to be a part of!

  5. Likeable facets…. • Kurt Thelen is awesome • The working atmosphere • Working in a greater context

  6. What was detested… • Scientists are boring • People are WAY too busy • Lack of information out there on Biofuels that isn't statistical results

  7. Did it affect my career choice? • Undoubtly yes • Will probably study International Relations for my graduate degree • Work for UN

  8. What was done for my portfolio… • Demonstrated ability to formulate ideas about what was needed in this field and to plan courses accordingly • Made a professional contact with Kurt Thelen • Gave material for other projects

  9. In Summary… • Learned about the industry and expectations • Discovered a new career calling • Expanded and enriched MSU experiences
