Benefits of wind turbines • Cleaner energy source for the environment. • Cut back on the usage of fossil fuels such as coal, oil, and natural gases. • When fully taxable the wind turbines can bring in millions of dollars. • Create many new jobs. • Landowners with wind turbines can receive a profit.

  3. Benefits of the tax collection • With the millions of dollars contributed to the tax base, this can help out local hospitals and school districts. • This money can help school buy new books, computers, and other equipment. • Hospitals can use this money to make new discoveries in their more advanced research methods.

  4. Job creation • Iowa leads the nation in employment related to the wind energy industry. • More than 6,000 to 7,000 employed in Iowa. • Jobs available include: Manufacturing, construction, operation and maintenance.

  5. Reasons why people dislike them • Wind turbines produce very loud sounds and vibrations in the ground. • Both of these can have a physiological impact on a person, causing nausea, rapid heartbeat, and hearing lose. • The vibrations can cause homes to be damaged such as having cracked walls, weaken foundation and even move the house. • The weather has an affect on the level of noise produced.

  6. Mediation • These wind turbines can be built in less populated regions of the country were people are not affected. • They can be placed out on the country side far away from communities and homes.
