they use NO TEXTBOOKS • lessons are based on reading (e.g. Teacher‘s Dead, Holes, Hobbit,…) – most of the books are read in their original editions • classescontainedrelativelylowamountoffactsand curriculum compared to Czechschoolsystem, lessonsbased on R + questioning • thechildrenknow literary theory – metaphor, metonymy, simile, alliteration, kennings, symbolism,… • also some problemswithdisciplineandattention • whole department for children with specific learning difficulties • thenumberofstudents in class vary The most important differences and similarities from English classes in Czech Republic
